Former player and current BWB Trainee, Jasmine Steele of Midfield signed her NLI to become an AL Lady Tide. Lil Jas has worked extremely hard to reach this milestone. It has been a pleasure being apart of her growth since she was in the 5th grade. I know she will succeed!

Hoover H.S. and four of my former players sign with Division 1 schools. Breion Allen-Rice University, Kayla Anderson-Univ of AL @ Bham, Nicole Tanner-Auburn Univ, and Chardonae Fuqua’-Baylor Univ. all sign their NLIs to play basketball. It was a special occasion to see these young ladies hard work pay off. I wish them much success. They all agreed that they can now focus on going out with a 6A State Title. Good Luck ladies!

Sharon Sanders Vestavia H.S.Combo guard Sharon Sanders of Vestavia H.S. has verbal to the Univ of South AL after her visit. Sharon says, “I was relieved and excited to finally commit.” I can say the Lady Jags will get a hard working, hard nose player, and an excellent student athlete!
September 26, 2011-Former player Breion Allen commits to the CUSA’s Rice University
Breion “Baby Bre” Allen has given her verbal commitment to Rice University of the Conference USA. Rice gets a combo guard, with a nice frame, and one of the best shooters in the C/O 2012. Breion will also play the point guard position as well. “Baby Bre” as I call her is very near to my heart; having coached her since a 3rd grader playing “UP” with the likes of Miss State’s Brittany Young, UA’s Kaneisha Horn, AU’s Tyrese Tanner & Peyton Davis, to name a few; to becoming one of the nation’s best shooters. Breion says, “It feels like a big weight was lifted off my shoulders, because this whole process has been very stressful for me, the deciding factor was that Rice was exactly what I was looking for; a well known academic school in a big city with a basketball team in a good & competitive conference.”Breion’s parents, who have played a major role in this process, are extremely proud of their baby girl. “I’m extremely proud about their ACADEMICS & that Rice is known as the Harvard of the South. LAB (Life After Basketball) is most important,” said Dad Fred Allen. Breion’s Mother Taura Allen states, “After praying to God to lead us, I can say I’m happy this part is over. Bre found a school that fits her! The Coaching Staff, the team, & the academics are what sold us. If I was to give any advice, it would be to learn as much about the school and team before making a decision.’
August 3, 2011-Former Player & BwB Trainee Lacey Buchanon commits to Samford University of the Sun Con Conference.
As Lacey’s coach for two years I’m proud to say Samford is getting a heady Point Guard, who puts herself second behind her team. She can score with the best of them, but she chooses to run the show, defend and dish. I know she will exceed at the next level.
July 20-Former player Tiarra Pollnitz verbals to CUSA’s Southern Miss
Tiarra Pollnitz, a 5’9″ combo guard will take her talents to Southern Miss next Fall. The Lady Golden Eagles get a smooth player who can play all three guard positions. Chardonae Fuqua’ is a 6’1″ Guard/Forward who originally commited to LSU, but after a change of staff took place she opened back up. On Monday, she gave her verbal commitment to the University of Baylor. She has an athletic frame & runs the floor exceptionally well. She can knock down the 3-point, has a nice low post and face up game, very active on the boards at both ends of the court, and a good on ball defender. She is the 6A State High Jump Champion; which gives her the ability to be a shot blocker. Steele has helped guide the Midfield Lady Patriots to three consecutive State Titles. She averages 15ppg, 6apg, 5spg, & 6rpg. The Crimson Tide will get a player whose heart is bigger than her body, and a true point guard who will find a way to get it done!
